What Is Shea Butter… and its amazing Benefits?

Shea butter is an off-white fatty substance obtained from the nuts of the shea tree from West Africa. Shea butter has shown to be a superb moisturizer, with amazing healing properties for the skin. There are a growing list of skin conditions that 100% pure shea butter has shown to be really effective.

Packed with Vitamin A, E and F, it combats dryness, soothe sores, moisturize dry skin/scalp, soften wrinkles and promote cell renewal, fade scars and stretch marks, alleviate eczema and dandruff. Shea butter melts easily at body temperature and is easily absorbed by the skin/scalp so it does not clog pores or leave a greasy residue on the surface.

Shea Butter Benefits

  • Moisturizing: The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in Shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for skin. It is often used to remedy dry skin and to help protect the skin’s natural oils.
  • Reduces Inflammation: A 2010 study found that due to its cinnamic acid and other natural properties, shea butter was anti-inflammatory. One compound in particular, lupeol cinnamate, was found to reduce skin inflammation and even potentially help avoid skin mutations. This also makes it beneficial for some people with acne.
  • Skin Smoothing: Shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying. With long term use, many people report skin softening and strengthening as well as wrinkle reduction.

Texture

Shea butter is a creamy beige butter, hard at room temperature but readily melts once in the hands. Unrefined shear butter has no perfume, in fact has an odd smell when one is not used to it but the smell quickly dissipates once the butter is applied onto the skin.

What Kind of Shea Butter is Best?

Black African Organics only stocks and uses raw, unrefined, Grade A Shea butter. All our products contain the best grade of unrefined shea butter. There are a lot of butters that claim to be organic but add flavours and colours which reduces the quality.

Black African Organics delivers shea butter straight to your door in small packages and in bulk to suit your needs.
