Power Product for the month: African Black Soap

African black soap is made in Ghana from the ashes of locally harvested plants and barks such a plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves, and Shea tree bark, water and various oils like palm oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil and also Shea butter and cocoa pod powder.

What does it do to my skin?

Black soap cleanses gently, so it’s ideal for people with rosacea, rashes, dryness and other skin conditions. Some African black soap contains a plantain extract, which has antibacterial properties that may help treat acne breakouts. Some people use the soap as a shampoo or mild makeup remover.

The plantain skins give the soap Vitamin A & E, and iron. Because the soap has the highest shea butter content of any soap, it purportedly also offers UV protection. Some people with caffeine sensitivities may need to test out soap that contains cocoa pods as there is some evidence that the caffeine can be transmitted through contact with the skin.

Black African Organics’ Raw African black soap is 100% pure and made from the above ingredients.

There are no added flavours to this all-natural soap. Whether your problem is acne, rash, aging or oiliness, this soap harnesses the uniqueness and nutrients of nature and adds it to your skin.

What’s better than taking straight from the Earth and putting on skin? No chemicals are used that damage and age your skin prematurely. African black soap can be used on all races, all genders and all skin types. Look beautiful while taking care of your skin.

Characteristics

Black soap is a little crumbly and softer than most soap, so be careful to store it properly. It’s a shade of brown, instead of black. It has a high glycerine content and absorbs water easily, so it should be stored in a plastic bag or dry area away from the tub and shower.
